Oil Painting workshop: Underpainting !
28 / 29 November
12.30 / 18.30
68 € 2 days - 35 € 1 day drop in
An underpainting can be a monochrome version of the final painting intended to initially fix the composition, give volume and substance to the forms, and distribute darks and lights. Can be thought to give power to main colors on the top ( complementary colors ) or as a basic "middle" tone to paint on.
Color is applied over the underpainting only when it's thoroughly dry, so better use acryl color to paint it since we have to paint on it the day after.
We'll understand the process through examples from art history and apply it on the canvas.
Material and details will be posted soon !
MATERIAL:
Please bring a range of acrylic colors :
- Burnt Sienna
- Alizarin Crimson
- Yellow Ocher
- Ultramarine blue ( warm )
